3rd Training: Regional Innovation Hubs, completed!

The 3rd and final training of the RISE project took place in Kranj from the 1st to the 5th of April 2019.

During the first two training sessions in Bremen (Social Entrepreneurship) and in Valencia (Validation), students and teachers learned about innovative problem solving, social entrepreneurship basics, testing, validation, business modelling, pitching, or storytelling among others. Now, in this last training, it is time to put all pieces together by creating Regional Innovation Hubs in the participating schools.

Regional Innovation Hubs will serve as a place where students and teachers gather in order to acquire entrepreneurial competencies by solving social problems using innovative cutting-edge methods available. To achieve this, the RISE participants attended the training in Kranj (Slovenia) and gained the necessary knowledge to do it.

On the first day of the training, the participants visited the local school (Šolski Center Kranj), where they got to know the facilities, how they work, and also had the chance to participate in an industrial robot workshop. Also, the host participants showed the potential location of the Regional Innovation Hub at their school, space that -in their case- will count with cutting-edge technology for prototyping and testing.

On day number two, the participants got trained from Public Speaking Professional Nika Močnik. They got useful advice on preparing their final pitch of the project. Nika was really inspiring for students and teachers, who made the most of the workshop.

Next day, Executive Coach Tomaž Stritar showed the participants how to create Regional Innovation Hubs, together with some input for its operation. Teachers and students took a good example to create their own Hubs when they are back at their centres.

On Thursday, the participants visited Hub 404 in Ljubljana (Slovenia). They gathered information from this analogous inspiration for creating their Regional Innovation Hubs in their respective countries. Afterwards, they had the chance to plan and rehearse their pitches for the final day of the training, where the trainers gave advice and helped on structuring it.

On the last day, students and teachers presented their project results as a team in front of the public at Šolski Center Kranj. Different techniques learned during the RISE training were applied to their pitches, where different structures were taken. The attendants gave feedback to the teams so that they apply it in the future.

This last training completes the RISE training, which allows teachers and students to create Regional Innovation Hubs in their schools. Next step, passing the test that will recognize them as social entrepreneurs by receiving the Social Entrepreneur Badge (SEB).

Keep tuned!
